Jewel Lake Villa Apartments has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for their involvement as a Neighborhood Networks Center. The following options are available for tenants of Jewel Lake Villa Apartments and the local community.

Jewel Lake Villa's community room is available as a meeting room for not-for-profit activities, birthday parties, boys and girls scout meetings, business seminars, luncheons, receptions, and other special functions. We have a full size kitchen that adjoins the community room. Please contact 243-0718 for information on reservation procedures and availability. Kitchen
The kitchen can be used by groups that wish to serve food during the event. The kitchen features a stainless steel sink, dishwasher, microwave oven, full size range and oven, refrigerator, and a serving window between kitchen and community room. Individuals must provide their own utensils, dishes, cooking equipment, and trash bags; and are responsible for clean-up after the event.



PUBLIC COMPUTER RESOURCE

Computer Lab
Jewel Lake Villa's computer lab is open for youth and adults to use for educational and personal use. There are five computers available to access the Internet. Business applications such as Microsoft Works are also available. The computer lab is open 9:00am - 4:00pm; Monday through Friday. Please contact 243-0718 for further information. Public computer resources are available in the Jewel Lake Villa Community Center. These resources include access to the Internet.. Our goal is to provide the use of computers and responsible Internet access to the residents of Jewel Lake Villa Apartments and others in the community to enhance personal and professional development.

Purpose of this Agreement

The smooth operation of the computer room relies on the proper conduct of the computer users. The signatures at the end of the document (please see printable form) are legally binding and indicate the parties who signed have read the terms and conditions carefully and understand their significance and agree to abide by these terms.

Terms and Conditions of this Agreement

1. Privileges: The use of electronic information resources is a privilege, not a right. Inappropriate use of these resources will result in the loss of computer services. An employee or volunteer of Jewel Lake Villa Apartments or Pacific Rim Properties has the right to deny specific users access to the computers and computer room.
2. Children: Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult to use the computer center.
3. Acceptable Use: General rules for behavior and communications apply to the use of computers. Beyond the clarification of standards, Jewel Lake Apartments, Pacific Rim Properties and their employees are not responsible for restricting, monitoring or controlling the communication of individuals utilizing the Internet. Employees and volunteers of Jewel Lake Villa Apartments and Pacific Rim Properties may review files and communications to maintain system integrity and insure that users are using the system responsibly. Users should not store files or e-mail messages on Jewel lake Villa computers' hard drives. users should store personal data on their own disks. The current computers have drives for 3.5" floppies, CD-RW, and DVD-R disks.
4. Adult Monitors: An adult monitor is a defined as a volunteer for Jewel Lake Villa Apartments or to monitor the activities in the computer room. Adult monitors have the right to tell computer users that their activities are not appropriate around children nd that these activities must be stopped. Adult Monitors will not be available at all times.
   Users Agree to the following:
   a. Viewing, downloading or printing pornographic material is strictly forbidden!
   c. Transmission of any material in violation of any United States or others' organizations is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: copyrighted material, threatening or obscene material, or material protected by trade secrets.
   d. Commercial activities for by-profit institutions are generally not acceptable.
   e. Illegal activities of any kind are forbidden.
   f. Do not use the computer in an way that would disrupt computer use by others.
   g. Use the printer sparingly. Do not print more pages than necessary for your purpose.
   h. Do not save or store information on the computer. Bring your own disks to store data.
   i. users will use a written sign-in/sign out sheet each time they use the computer center.
   j. Users agree to a time restriction for computer use not to exceed 1 hour when someone else is waiting to use the computer unless approved by a computer monitor.
5. Network and Computer Room Manners. Each user is expected to abide by the generally accepted rules of etiquette. These rules include, but are not limited to, the following:
   a. Be polite. Never send, or encourage others to send, abusive or obscene messages.
   b. Use appropriate language.
   c. Use electronic mail appropriately. Electronic mail (E-mail) is not guaranteed to be private. Messages relating to or in support of illegal activities must be reported to authorities.
6. Vandalism: Vandalism is defined as any malicious attempt to harm or destroy property of Jewel Lake Villa Apartments or of other user or any other agencies or networks that are connected to the internet. Vandalism includes, but is not limited to, uploading, downloading, or creation of computer viruses. Any form of vandalism by a Jewel Lake Villa computer user is strictly forbidden.
7. Services: Jewel Lake Villa Apartments, Pacific Rim Properties, and their employees and volunteers make no warranties of any kind whether expressed or implied, for the service it is providing. We will not be responsible for any damages you suffer while on this system. These damages include loss of data as a result of delays, non- deliveries, mis- deliveries, or service interruptions caused by the system or your errors or omissions. Use of any information obtained via the information system at your own risk. Jewel lake Villa Apartments, Pacific Rim Properties and their employees and volunteers specifically denies any responsibility for the accuracy of information obtained through electronic information resources.
